Use Siri when your hands are full.

Connect Siri to ChatGPT for quick household help without stopping what you're doing.

You rarely remember something when you're conveniently sitting at your computer.

Driving. Making dinner. Carrying a kid. Cleaning something. Walking through a store.

Instead of stopping what you're doing to open another app, ask Siri to hand the thought to ChatGPT.

Connect Siri + ChatGPT

Why this is useful

Use Siri when your hands are full. Use ChatGPT when your brain is full.

  • You're doing something

  • You ask Siri

  • ChatGPT helps you think

  • Cooking
  • Driving
  • Cleaning
  • Getting kids ready
  • Shopping
  • Walking
  • Packing
  • Household projects

Before you start

  • An iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence.
  • Apple Intelligence turned on.
  • The ChatGPT extension available under Apple Intelligence & Siri.
  • A supported language and region setting on your device.
Having trouble finding ChatGPT?

Apple currently lists Apple Intelligence support for iPhone 15 Pro models and iPhone 16 models or later, plus supported iPads and Macs. Availability can vary by device, language, region and software version.

Connect Siri + ChatGPT

  5. 5

    Connect your ChatGPT account

  • In the same ChatGPT settings, Confirm ChatGPT Requests decides whether Siri asks you every time before it sends something to ChatGPT.
  • Apple and OpenAI still ask permission before any file is sent.

Why this is different

You’re not just asking AI. You’re asking the AI that may already know your life.

Depending on your ChatGPT settings and what you’ve previously shared, ChatGPT may already have useful context about your family, preferences, routines and priorities.

If you already use ChatGPT regularly, it may have context about things like:

  • your kids’ ages
  • foods your family likes
  • your routines
  • your schedule constraints
  • how much time you have
  • your preferences
  • what you’ve already been working on

Less re-explaining. More useful answers in the moment.

Ask a generic assistant

You get a generic answer. Then you still have to translate it to your actual life.

Ask ChatGPT with context

Your answer can be more relevant because ChatGPT may already know something about your family, schedule and preferences.

  • Kids’ activity

    Generic version

Give me an activity for kids.

    Better with context

Hey Siri, ask ChatGPT what I can do with the kids for 20 minutes right now.

If ChatGPT already knows their ages, it can suggest something more age-appropriate without you restating everything.

  • Use a 30-minute window

    Generic version

What should I do with 30 minutes?

    Better with context

Hey Siri, ask ChatGPT what I should do with the 30 minutes I have before pickup.

If ChatGPT knows your current priorities and the kinds of tasks you’re managing, it can help choose something realistic instead of giving generic productivity advice.

  • Dinner

    Generic version

    Give me a dinner idea.

    Better with context

Hey Siri, ask ChatGPT what I should make for dinner tonight.

If ChatGPT already knows your family’s food preferences, dislikes, dinner timing or what you usually keep on hand, the answer can be more useful than a generic recipe suggestion.

  • Family / household decision

    Generic version

    What should I tackle first?

    Better with context

Hey Siri, ask ChatGPT what I should tackle first tonight.

If ChatGPT has context about your routines, household priorities or what you’ve already been working on, it can give a more relevant answer.

Today

What this can do today

Connecting Siri to ChatGPT gives you hands-free access to ChatGPT in the middle of real life.

You can use it to get help thinking, deciding, planning, troubleshooting or answering a question without stopping to open the app.

If ChatGPT already has useful context about you, your family or your preferences, the answer may also be more relevant to your life.

Advanced setup

Founder testing

What this doesn’t do — yet

The native Siri + ChatGPT connection does not automatically take action inside your other apps or household systems.

Updating a task, list, calendar or another system requires an additional automation layer.

Voice

AI interprets

System action

The goal is fewer handoffs between your brain and your tools.

I’m currently testing this next layer — using voice to capture a thought, interpret what you mean, and send it to the right destination without manually re-entering it.

If something's off

I connected ChatGPT, but Siri still searched the web
  • Start the request with “Ask ChatGPT.” Siri decides what to handle itself, so saying it explicitly is the reliable way to bring ChatGPT in.
ChatGPT isn’t showing under Apple Intelligence & Siri
  • Check that your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence.
  • Check that Apple Intelligence is turned on.
  • Check that Device Language and Siri Language are set to the same supported language.
  • Check that your software is current enough for the feature.
Siri works for some ChatGPT requests but not others
  • Siri handles some requests itself, like timers, messages and reminders, rather than passing them to ChatGPT.
  • Rephrasing the request to begin with “Ask ChatGPT” makes it clear where you want the request to go.
  • In Settings, Apple Intelligence & Siri, ChatGPT, review Confirm ChatGPT Requests if you want to see each hand-off.
I expected it to add something to my task tracker
  • Native Siri and ChatGPT do not automatically write into the Martins, Managed Task Tracker.
  • That requires additional setup, and it is currently being tested.
